Lieutenant Colonel John McKinney arrived in Pahrump in November 2020.  He served as an enlisted soldier and Engineer officer for over 32 years in worldwide assignments and retired in 2007.  He served 3 years as a college ROTC instructor at the University of Iowa, 18 months as the Recruiting Operations Officer at Stephen F. Austin State University and he has experience with both National Defense Cadet Corps (NDCC) and JROTC programs.
